*** This car is SOLD. *** The Marcos company, founded in 1959 and named after the shortended names of the two founders, Jem Marsh and Frank Costin, has experienced quite some economical ups and downs, but has not changed the principles of sportscar construction since the late 60s: A fiberglass bodywork is fixed on a solid tubular steel-chassis, and cars were equipped with 2.0 litre Ford V-4, 3.0 litre Ford V-6 or 3.0 Litre Volvo 6 cylinder in-line engines. After the company had to be closed down in 1972, it was not until 1981 that Marcos GT manufacturing was relaunched. At first, the unchanged models of the beginning 70s were offered, and from 1983 on the now 'Marcos Mantula' called sportscar was available with the tried and tested Rover 3.5 litre V-8 engine, either with carburetor or with fuel injection. The 1983 Marcos presented here has been one of the last sportscars equipped with a 3.0 litre engine, and after it had come from the U.K. to Germany in 1993, a Rover 3.5 litre V-8 engine with fuel injection was implanted. The authentic motor replacement as well as the Mini-Lite-wheels are officially listed in the registration certificate. Still being with the first german owner, the car is in very nice condition visually as well as technically with some minor traces of usage. Performance is of course satisfying according to the ratio of weight (900 kg) to engine power (192 hp). Car comes with lots of bills and documents dating back to 1990, and with valid German M.O.T. ("TÜV"). +++ Foreign customers are welcome. Car is located in the Frankfurt/Main airport region. Shipping no problem. +++
