*** DEAL PENDING *** The british make "Lagonda", reminding of a river in the US-state Ohio, from where founder William Gunn had immigrated to the UK at the beginning of the 20th century, was one of the most exclusive worldwide at the time. Besides all racing successes, the outstanding reputation was mainly based on the engineering efforts the new technical director W.O.Bentley attributed since 1935, and the talent of young designer Frank Feeley. Bentley not only developed a completely new 12 cylinder engine, but also significantly improved the hitherto used Meadows 6 cylinder engine. In 1937, Feeley created a new design for the "LG 6" type, where a lowered hood and the upper edge of the front wings nearly on a level with the hood together with the reset radiator and huge Lucas P-100 headlamps conveyed an aura of aggressive dynamics never achieved before. The LG 6 Drop Head Coupé presented here, with matching car and engine no.12336, came to Germany from the UK in 1985, since 1997 being with its second German owner. He made it meticulously restored about ten years ago, with a voluminous photo documentation showing the professional works on body (wood, aluminium, painting), technics (esp. engine) and interior (wood refurbished, leather new). Since then, the Lagonda has mastered several tours without any malfunctions or signs of wear and tear. The big 6 cylinder engine has double ignition with two Scintilla-Vertex-magnetos and a row of six spark plugs on each side of the engine. The four-gear box shows 2nd, 3rd and 4th synchro-mesh. Independent front-suspension, double-circuit braking system and themostatically regulated radiator fins were standard. Painting, chrome, interior and soft-top are in excellent condition. Performance is of course impressive. From 1937-39 only 82 LG 6 in all body designs were built. No.12336 is a full history car with only 4 owners from new, and is one of the very few convertibles which have survived. +++ Car is located in the Frankfurt/Main airport region. Shipping no problem. +++
