Only 52 C-Type racecars based on the XK 120 have ever been built from 1951 - 1953, and they owe their legendary reputation Le Mans victories in 1951, 1953 and 1955. To get one of those originals, if ever one should be offered, requires a decent million euro sum. No wonder that small and talented British manufacturers very early began to copy these icons, and Proteus ranges among those who did the job with outmost authenticity. So our particular car not only shows the aluminium tubular frame based on the original XK construction plans, but also features XK engine with triple Weber 45 double carbs, XK gearbox (Moss) with overdrive, XK axles, XK instruments etc. The construction is carried out with highest precision, the body consisting of an aluminium monocoque with hood and rear part made of GRP (empty weight only 1120 kg!), Dunlop racing tires etc. The car is now with her 2nd owner, and only recently the cylinder head was professionally overhauled and adapted to unleaded fuel. Based on the many original XK components, 1958 is the officially registered year of production. Car comes with valid German M.o.T.
